My focus is on the surface of the cloth. I construct my pieces to be worn gently over the body. I invent my colors using low-impact chemical dyes as well as plant-based foraged dye sources. I dye & over-dye using the shape-resist method of Shibori to form patterns. I employ rusted metal to create an additional resist and color change. My work is pieced & collaged. I make use of heat and time. I take the cloth to where I want it to go and in return it takes me. My references come from wherever my eyes land.
