About this Exhibitor / Bio:
My handmade textiles are an outgrowth of a lifelong love of fiber. Wool and/or silk combine with alpaca, linen, cotton, ribbons, yarns, beads, sequins, and other fibers in unique works of wearable art.
Hand dyeing, Shibori techniques, felting, nuno-felting , and needle felting are used to explore the tactile and visual characteristics of these materials. The results vary from comfortably casual to fabulously formal.
Inspiration comes from a wide range of sources and experiences: fern fronds emerging in the Welsh forest in spring, street markets in Bangkok, tapestries in the Cluny museum in Paris, historical textile fragments, the ever changing garden, snowflakes, water, and stone.
