Strength and fragility: balance necessary in nature and life. I seek this balance in both the physical and visual texture created from a single piece of sustainable raw cloth, dyed using ancient techniques as I understand them, deconstructed, stitched and pieced. Through an organic process, each of my steps informs the next until individual textiles become both sculptural and functional. As beauty and function converge on the human form, this cloth becomes the most intimate art.
